Those lazy, hazy, crazy days of Summer!

Dear Reader:

What better way to celebrate summer than at the beach? Well of course there's no better way, aside from maybe the Drive-In with your heart's desire sitting in the front seat beside you, a tub of popcorn, a couple gallons of whatever passes for soda pop and a triple bill of classic sci-fi and horror flicks. Ah, bliss. But since you're sitting there in front of your computer reading Writer's Cramp, maybe I can give you something to cheer you up.

I know, how about our second annual Drive In Issue? That's the ticket! This is when we dust off those gems from our first annual Drive In issue and draw them screaming from the Archives to astound and amaze a whole new generation of readers.

See! The Amazing Melting Man!

Be horrified by! The Brain That Wouldn't Die!

Try to outlast! Venus Survival!

Come Face to Face with ! The Half-Dead Cat!

Fight to escape! The Twilight Zone in Sitcom Hell!

Since asking for subscriptions to our world famous Archives, we've been swamped by requests from newcomers to feature one or two Archived Gems in each new issue of Writer's Cramp and we agree that for those visitors new to the site and unfamiliar with the stellar quality of our past offerings (and who want a taste before plunking down their $18.00 a year), this is one of the best ways to showcase our wares, as it were.

Therefore we bow to overwhelming public pressure and offer up this treasure trove for your prurient pleasure and engorging edification.

Out of This World

Coming up very soon is our traditional Hallowe'en Issue of Writer's Cramp.

We launched our first edition of WC back in October of 1998 in a much different format and at a much reduced size. But since then we've grown to publish scores of international writers and host nearly 300 of their best works in our ongoing issues and now in our Archives. For those of you interested in becoming a contributor to Writer's Cramp and joining our august ranks, the perfect time is now. Click on the Hallowe'en Writing Contest icon on the front page and read how to enter. You could be reading your short story in the next Hallowe'en Issue and in an upcoming eBook called, "Nightshades and Shadows."

It all began one Hallowe'en six years ago and we still hold a damp spot in our hearts for the icy chill of All Hallow's Eve.

And as we always say, don't bounce on the beds, daddy has another headache.

Enjoy.
